It is expected that any IT student
should have the basic knowledge in formatting and loading of an
OS especially windows operating system.
Before any configuration can done on the host PC, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 standard edition has to be installed first and the following services (HTTP, DNS, AD DS and DHCP)
configured as shown below:
1.2.2 WEB SERVER (IIS)
This service role uses Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP/HTTPS)
which enable the server to accept request from client computers and return responses to those requests there by allowing
you to share information over the intranet, extranet or internet. HTTP and HTTPS uses port 80 and 443 respectively to communicate over the network.

1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and
then click Server Manager.
2. In Roles
Summary,
click
Add Roles.
3. Select Web Service (IIS), click Next, follow the Add Roles Wizard to complete the
installation.
